Azores '27 Travel Date Update - FAQ's

1) The original dates of travel have changed from 31st July – 7th August to 1st - 8th August – Why? 

Flights are released 11 months before travel. The travel company advised us as soon as they could that the original flight dates were more expensive than expected.  

To avoid passing on extra costs to all participants, at the recommendation of the travel company we agreed to change the dates. 

The original dates would also have included a 10 hour stop-over in Lisbon meaning an arrival time at our hotel in the early hours of the following day. 

The new dates remove this lengthy stopover and help keep costs within budget, though we understand this may affect family plans.

2) Is there any change to the cost of the trip with the new flight arrangements? 

No. The new flights remain within the planned budget, so there’s no price difference for participants.

  

3) What time will you now arrive back in the UK on 8th August? 

Currently it is expected that the group will arrive back in the UK during the late afternoon of 8 August. However, changes by the airline company may be made at any point which is outside our control. We will confirm details once they are finalised.

 

4). What is your flight route? 

We are expecting to travel from the UK (airport not yet confirmed) to Lisbon in Portugal, before getting a connecting flight to the Azores. Once we have this information we will share it with you. We emphasise flight times etc may still change due to airlines making changes which are beyond our control.

5). We are planning a family holiday to Portugal – can we pick our child up at Lisbon airport? 

No. In practice this is not a request we can accommodate. We are travelling as a group. There is a chance either party may not arrive at a collection point on time, and we cannot delay the rest of our group and miss our flights because one parent doesn’t arrive in time for some reason.

6).  What happens if my child cannot travel on the new dates? 

Please contact the leadership team as soon as possible.
